I think always checking through on the flop here is bad too, cause I'm not going to check through the flop too often with overpairs (I definitely will though) or with a hand like AK or KQ (I might sometimes).
When I check through here, my plan on the turn is to raise any turn. A lot of air will bet the turn from the SB and even some pairs will fold to a turn raise cause they will think I've slowplayed something. It's rare that I get a call on the turn, so my guess is the opponent has to have a pretty decent hand. As for the amount of my turn raise, it's disgusting and was a complete miscalculation. On the river, this decision was really tough for me. I really, really felt like unless this player is horrible I've got to be beat. However, I need to call 172 to win 656, so my call needs to be right 1 in 3.8 times. After thinking about it for a lot, I realized this player would have to be truly disgustingly bad to make this play, so I folded. |
