NL100: Strange spot with AQs
Villain is Unknown but has played most of the pots since they sat down an orbit ago.
I called the flop because i didn't want to push villain off their hand, as i'm usually ahead here. Is raising the flop a better line? The turn isn't a great card but their line makes absolutely no sense. So should hero make a hero call? Re: NL100: Strange spot with AQs
calling and raising the flop are both fine
I'd probably fold here without a better read |

The turn isn't a great card but their line makes absolutely no sense. So should hero make a hero call? [/ QUOTE ] Min-raise/call preflop followed by big lead on a 2-flush board, then a push when another overcard comes is consistent with a big hand. By the turn, it is likely a low set, two pair, or a big combo draw that is trying to fold out big 1-pair hands like AA and AQ. Since I doubt villain would min-raise/call preflop with QQ-AA, I think by the turn he has hands like 55,66,56s,KQs,7d8d,JdTd,AdTd,AdKd,AdJd. All of these are candidates for min-raise/call preflop, then bet flop/push turn. Some of the draw hands might be less likely if villains isn't aggro w/ draws OOP. Board: Qd 5d 6c Ks 76.623% { 66-55, AdKd, AdJd, AdTd, KQs, JdTd, 8d7d, 65s } 23.377% { AhQh } So, I think folding TPTK on the turn is good. |

Re: NL100: Strange spot with AQs
After the turn what are you ahead of other than a flush draw? KQ and AK caught up. AA or KK are still way ahead. I think you have to fold here.
