50NL- Defending My Blind And Hit
Not really a decision post- more like "what's my plan?"
Villain is 17/7/1, and I haven't really seen him be very active. I know PF and flop are completely standard. I'd be betting this flop no matter what I had, but now that I have something it makes the hand a bit more difficult to plan. I had to admit after I bet that I really didn't have a plan for what to do if he re-raised me, and really I shouldn't be betting without knowing what I'll do if I get pushed back at. My SPR sucks, but in a blind defense situation like this I cannot really focus on hitting a target SPR because most of the time we won't be seeing a flop anyway. I can probably deal with a call here, but if he re-raises, what's my plan? Re: 50NL- Defending My Blind And Hit
I would 3-bet preflop and hope to take it down. If I didn't do that I would check/raise on this flop.
As it is I'm calling a raise and planning on donking the turn. |

I would 3-bet preflop and hope to take it down. [/ QUOTE ]Yes, this was my plan/hope. Didn't quite work out that way. [ QUOTE ] If I didn't do that I would check/raise on this flop. [/ QUOTE ]So my plan would be to c/r flops I hit and c-bet flops I don't? Because I'm certainly firing at this flop with AK. I realize that this situation comes up infrequently enough that villain may not realize a pattern there, but that seems hugely exploitable, especially in big pots. [ QUOTE ] As it is I'm calling a raise and planning on donking the turn. [/ QUOTE ]Bet/fold the turn? What if he calls the turn? The pot will be enormous by this point. |

So my plan would be to c/r flops I hit and c-bet flops I don't? [/ QUOTE ] No - I usually fold the flops I miss. [ QUOTE ] Bet/fold the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe bet/fold, I don't much about the villian so it depends on what you think of him. [ QUOTE ] What if he calls the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Calling is good for us, we are going to be ahead most of the time. [ QUOTE ] The pot will be enormous by this point. [/ QUOTE ] |

No - I usually fold the flops I miss. [/ QUOTE ]3betting from the blinds and then c/f every flop you miss is giving up way too easy. I had a guy with a VPIP of 45% today fold QQ to my c-bet on a 788 board after three betting PF (I didn't think he was that strong or I'd not have c-bet). |
