Older men complaining about my cbet.
In the casino I play at, I cbet a much higher % than everyone else. I've noticed that, from even the best players that are say 55+, I am consistently being talked down to whenever I cbet and they are much more likely to cr me or call w not much. Of course, I use this to my advantage but the "social" side of it isn't always pleasant as they go on and on in a harsh tone about how if I was against them that hand they would have called or when I fold to their cr they mock me and say they knew I had overcards. Is their frustration just because I take them out of their comfort zone? I find it highly peculiar.

Re: Older men complaining about my cbet.
If you are making money then let the old men complain. They aren't going to complain for very much longer.

lol who cares about the social side. i'm not interested in getting friendly w/ some geezers. they complain b/c they want a soft game. i would cbet all day long against these ppl.

Re: Older men complaining about my cbet.
Older men comprise the nittiest, whiny-est, complaining-est, rudest, fish berating-est, coffee/cigarette breath-est, nastiest general category of poker players. I suggest kicking them all in the nuts first, and then ignoring their bullpucky later.

Re: Older men complaining about my cbet.
geezers hate variance (perhaps b/c every beat they take could be their last?) and play like total nits.
if you care about what they say then try to relate to them in a friendly manner that you simply play a more aggressive style than them and it isn't anything personal, just how you play |

You aren't doing any angleshooting or something else on the verge of / against the rules, so keep it up if it is profitable during your sessions.

Re: Older men complaining about my cbet.
I understand what you are saying. When I used to play low limit holdem or stud, and was trying to learn the game and play well, I was almost always the most aggressive and sometimes got bad vibes from the old timers who were used to a nice passive game. It bothered me because by nature, I like to get along with others and don't need any animosity. My advice would be to move up in stakes as soon as you can where aggressive play is the norm

I suggest kicking them all in the nuts first, [/ QUOTE ] Their geriatric nuts have shriveled up long ago. OP, tell them to stop getting their Depends all up in a bunch. |
