Minireraised late in 10r
32 players left. Villain has been playing aggressively and apparently well; but OPR shows him as low buyin, without a lot of play, and with a net loss.

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
We def. want to play this hand. The question is how is our approach.
1.) We can call and get it in on any A or K on the flop, which means in about 1/3 of the time. We get the proper odds to do so. 2.) We call, planning a Stop'n'Go 3.) We 4-bet, which means a push with stack-sizes given. Pot is 123k so far. I think with the pot that big compared to our remaining stack pushing is better. The stop'n'go will not work most of the time, as he basically cries out he has a big PP, so if we have just rags on the flop I don't think we have much FE. So I think pushing is fine here. |

If we want to play this hand, we have to push.

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
Your M's around 12, your out of position preflop with a hand that wants to see all 5 cards. This is fo sho a push unless you have specifically seen him minreraise with KK/AA. I'm guessing you havn't otherwise you would have posted it.

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
I think you have to push, but i really think he has KK. He's probably not folding, and you're probably flipping at best. Maybe this is just a fold, but if it is, i am not good enough to fold

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
I pushed and he had aces. He was aggressive and the stack sizes were such that a strong player could make this reraise with the intention of folding to a 4-bet. Also, I had a big hand. Wondered if I should have dumped it due to the bet size tell.

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
maybe on stars this is just a fold. this bet screams please shove. On full tilt I shove and don't think twice about it. But he has to have QQ+ here everytime on stars, right?

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
Can we ever get away at 21 bb's? I think the deck has decided our fate, that is a horrible bet size, but we can't possibly range it that tight on one tell can we?
Puke as you insert stack and he tuns over the hand you figured he'd turn over. |

Re: Minireraised late in 10r
Late, I see the mini-raise a lot with AA-QQ.....Occasionly with, Ax Kx...and lower pocket pairs. Most of the time you are, at best, flipping...
I see it so often, I am very leery of this donk move and avoid re-raisng unless I am very strong. With AK I groan and get 'em in and pray they have QQ so we're flipping. I see this a lot so I'm glad this is a topic. What range do you go all in with this hand? I think our range is pretty narrow here minus reads...AK-AQ....AA-JJ? Has anybody been makign mini-raise bluffs in the late stages yet? I've done it a few times and it actually has worked....especially when u play good, tight players. It also does wonders for your table image (if you want people to underestimate you). |
