Re: Hand from villian\'s perspective (Reshef)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I bet/3bet the flop. If I have a hand that can bet this turn, it is one that is showing down 100% of the time. There is 0 folding equity here. His hand is either 55, 66 or nothing. [/ QUOTE ] Just because he fails to take advantage of your exploitable play doesn't mean he's making a bad play. It just means he isn't very observant as he hasn't picked up on your tendencies. Perhaps his game works well against the "average" player on Stars 10/20? [/ QUOTE ] Please explain how my play in this hand is exploitable by Reshef in this instance. |

Re: Hand from villian\'s perspective (Reshef)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] you would donk-3 bet the flop? [/ QUOTE ] no. what gives you that impression? [/ QUOTE ] Oh i see, i thought you were saying "[if I were him] I bet 3b the flop." [/ QUOTE ] I was not saying that if i was him I'd do this or that. I was saying what I did in the hand. I bet/3bet the flop after he c/rd, and I bet the turn when he checked. I never have a hand there that is folding, thus his line is awful. |

wow the OP is really not that bad, if at all bad. [/ QUOTE ] I assume you mean his play of the hand? I'm having trouble seeing how it can be good at all in a vaccum, and the metagame explination also seems a bit of a stretch. Can you enlighten ? |

[ QUOTE ]
Please explain how my play in this hand is exploitable by Reshef in this instance. [/ QUOTE ] If your range after 3betting the flop and betting the turn contains no draws, then he can exploit you by folding a lot of weak hands on the turn and river - hands that he would have to call down against someone who might be semi-bluffing. |

Re: Hand from villian\'s perspective (Reshef)
you say "He's shutting out a player when he has only K hi"
yeah...what better time to shut out a player? when he has top set? eliminating utg is a huge victory in a pot this large, which justifies both his cr and cap. plus, even if he doesn't induce a fold he has plenty of equity so it's not like he's losing a ton of money on each bet that goes into the pot. he actually played this exactly how i'd play it although tbh sometimes i'd make the mistake of just calling your flop 3bet. |

Re: Hand from villian\'s perspective (Reshef)
agree about the initial c/r because it can actually lead to winning ui, but i don't see why you want to eliminate utg once hero 3-bets the flop 3-way. i don't see how it's ever a good outcome because once hero does this on the flop, it's very unlikely that the K6 wins without improvement. so now he's just hu with a draw against a better hand that's going to showdown. if someone forced me to try to justify the cap, i'd say it's almost for value and it'll likely make them play wrong on the turn when i hit since they won't put me on the draw.
