So I try the cold-call w/ AK thing...
OK it was actually a mis-click...but let's say it was intentional. Villain is unknown.

Re: So I try the cold-call w/ AK thing...
Why shove the turn? Is he going to call with KQ? That is the only hand I can see him calling with that you beat...

I'd generally raise flop, but I like this, it looks a lot like a draw.

It's just that I'm guessing loos doesn't flat with draws here, so we should be playing our disguised tptks like this too.

I'd generally raise flop, but I like this, it looks a lot like a draw. [/ QUOTE ] I considered raising flop, but on this board if the money goes in there I'm usually up against KJ,JJ/33,draws with boat loads of equity, and occasionally KQ/KT. I figured by raising turn, I can rep a draw myself, and get it in w/ a little better equity against any draw he feels like gambling it up w/. |

I prefer to raise flop rather than turn. As played I think I'd call again.

Re: So I try the cold-call w/ AK thing...
This is one of the few spots I like taking the passive c/c c/c c/c lines. He will value bet KQ all the way down, may double barrel (or even triple) since there's alot of mediocre made hands/draws you could have, etc..
Check raising pretty much sucks. Alot of your value comes from him getting overaggro with worse hands. You don't want to push him off his hands and he's rarely going to be willing to get it in with worse. |

Re: So I try the cold-call w/ AK thing...
meh, i think flop raise is > turn raise.
on the flop hes way more likely to put you on a draw and call a raise with weaker Kx becasue he never puts you on AK. on the turn i think your hand actually looks more like a set (33/77/JJ) than any draw, and i dont think he calls that shove unless he has AA/KJ+ (and youre toast), maaaaybe AQhh/A3hh will call, but that a pretty tiny part of his range. but i really dont think draws are a very signifigant part of villains range, so since you called the flop i just call the turn as well, and raise most rivers, or bet hard if checked to. |
