To weak with KK?
Poker Stars, $12 + $1 NL Hold'em Tournament, 10/20 Blinds, 6 Players

No real reads as very early on. Seems weak to check fold, seems stupid to bet into 3 people that have called the RR. |

Re: To weak with KK?
Checking behind is really OK. If they both check again on the turn, I'd bet something like t400.

Re: To weak with KK?
UTG could have a pretty wide range, most likely a small pair or a connector type hand. If you check flop and he bets out turn i'd put him on a strong hand.
MP raised very small against a limper, got reraised and snapcalled. If he's somewhat competent you can rule out hands like 88-TT since he wouldnt get implied odds. He could be a bad player having JJ or QQ looking for a safe flop, or slowplaying AA (since he reraised the limper so small). I think the most likely hands for MP is AT-AK though and i'd check behind like pocketbear suggested. Probably call a small turnbet by MP and reevaluate the river, or of course bet out turn when they check. |

Re: To weak with KK?
I would check behind and probably check again on the turn (and call a bet)

Re: To weak with KK?
I would put in a tiny bet and make that the last I put in this pot! I had this exact hand last night with one extra player.
I checked figuring SOMEBODY had an ace. There was a bet on the river. 2 players called and I said screw this and folded. Result was NO ONE had an ace but a guy had a set. |

Re: To weak with KK?
On a 12$, checking is probably correct.
Related question: If we think villains are decent, we bet that flop, right? I dont see a decent villain calling the RR with any Ax-type hand worse than AK. But AK is pretty unlikely because of card removal - and AK would also 4-Bet pre a lot. So, i think Ax is only a small part of a competent players range here. Not sure about betting out, but i think we are ahead a lot here, against decent villains. |
