To raise the flop with straight draw in MP?
Button is 31.72/26.16/3.19,2.9,1.50 237 hds
SB is 60/0.64/033,0.53,0.84 157 hands Button is very LAGG Ultimate Bet 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (8 handed) Ultimate Bet Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. HERO calls, 4 folds, Button raises, SB calls, 1 fold, HERO calls. Flop: (7 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, HERO checks, Button bets, SB calls, HERO ?? I'm more inclined to raise for value here, in case I hit my straight on the later streets. Oh, I've even got overcards that I can make it 4-5 more outs. That gives me 12-13 outs in total. My consideration is that if I raise, I'll be getting SB to go along for the ride too, given he has already called one bet from the button. However LAGG button is still to act behind me, and there is a possibility he might re-raise. Any case for this concern here? If he re-raises, well, that would be value for me if I hit my straight here. In general, how do I play when I'm OOP with a flush draw/OESD with a LAGG acting behind? |

Re: To raise the flop with straight draw in MP?
SB is not folding for 2 more if button 3-bets (which he usually will). You will not get a free card very much, so the value is slim. You could probably add a couple outs for overcards. So let's raise.
Regarding pre-flop, 8-handed, this is a raise. |

Put the players on a range and figure out your equity.. then tell us if raising is value here or not.

This is a raise pre-flop from UTG with KQ offsuit? [/ QUOTE ] I like to raise pf with KQo at FR. 8-handed the pf raise is probably standard. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ranges- Button: 55+,A6s+,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,A8o+,KT o+,QJo SB: TT-55,AQs-A6s,QJs,J9s+,T9s,98s,86s+,75s+,65s,AQo-A7o,QJo,JTo,T9o Total no. of outs: 8 outs for a straight, and 4 outs to a top split pair. I’m discounting top split pair outs cos it might be giving two pair to villains. Given SB is calling, I’m discounting my outs a little bit more, since he’s likely to hold a more legit hand than button. Considering I raise, hit my outs and they call down to river: Total BB I can win is 11*0.5+2+2 = 9.5 EV = (0.261*(9.5)) = 2.48 Considering I raise, don’t hit my outs, and fold on the river: Total BB I can lose is 2*0.5 + 1 = 2 EV = (0.739*(-2)) = -1.478 Therefore Total raising EV is 1.00 Considering I call, hit my outs and they call down to river: Total BB I can win is 9*0.5+2+2 = 8.5 EV = (0.261*(8.5)) = 2.2185 Considering I call, don’t hit my outs, and fold on the river: Total BB I can lose is 1*0.5 + 1 = 1.5 EV = (0. 739*(-1.5)) = -1.1085 Therefore Total raising EV is 1.11 Looks like calling is better? |

KQo is in Grp 4, not a good hand to raise UTG. Anyway with certain players in this table, the pot most likely will get raised, so I choose to call, and see the flop if it's going to be favourable. But of course, if it's suited, I'll raise. |

I like raising stuff UTG because everyone respects those raises. As played I like a flop raise, and a freecard if given.

Re: To raise the flop with straight draw in MP?
Villain is aggro enough that I'd rather just call here and check-raise the turn if I hit *ANY* of my outs.
