Re: 250BB deep middle set, live
seems like a close to optimal line against described aggrodonk (who has air usually), but i'd probably check the river in real time to induce more bluffs.

Re: 250BB deep middle set, live
This reminds me of a hand I played live at the Wynn where I actually said "I check to induce a bluff" out loud for some reason and an Azn dude went all-in and I folded. He shoved me a bluff. i got pwned
Live poker would be so awesome if it weren't so slow. "He opens for 19" lol. I don't think you can fold here vs. a hyperaggro guy. If your read is correct his bluffing frequency probably goes way up since those are good turns/rivers to bluff at. A lot of top pair/two pair/overpair hands are in his range too. |

Re: 250BB deep middle set, live
c/r>b/c>c/c imo.
he's agro, you have a set. get it in. live players are so bad he can def get it in with worse if you c/r or b/c. |

Re: 250BB deep middle set, live
thx for the responses.
i called, he showed A3cc for the nuts i really didnt want to c/r AI into the nuts, which i thought was going to happen. kind of funny side note about the hand. before the flop i said to donkey boy im going to out flop you then you will suck out on me for a really big pot. god it sucks to be so smart sometimes. |

Re: 250BB deep middle set, live
Based on the fact we played at the same table, and we probably played 2 hours or so with this maniac that we can agree on a few things.
Hes obviously a no fold'em guy lol. I was talking to Joe about him last night, and we came to the following conclusions. He raises 4-5 times per orbit to 16+. He will call any 3-bet with any hand PF, provided its not ridiculously large. He will call any flop bet 60%-70% of the time if you lead out. He will fire if you check to him in a similar frequency if he has position. The turn is what I really remember distinctly. Because he plays so many hands, he is very passive on the turn. Hands where he will fire on the flop in hopes to take down pots that you completely missed, he will check behind on the turn assuming you have anything a high percentage of the time (since he can't continue with his bluff if he knows you are going to look him up at this point). This hand he is firing out. You have to ask yourself what range of hands is he making that large type of bet on the turn with. Why is he playing this turn so hard? What hands is he leading out, and just calling a raise with on the flop? A flush draw? TPGK? Straight draw? I wasn't here for this hand, but you were talking in the hand here. IMO he knows you are very strong here. If he knows you are strong/most likely calling, and is shoving regardless thats huge. He is shoving the river. I can't remember many hands where he shoved all in on the river w/ this type of line. He will value bet with second best hands here, but not so much a shove. Based on the lines he took and how aggressive he is playing you have to fold the river here. Tough fold though, because the guy is literally playing every hand. |
