How many internet players in USA?
Since the idiots in Washington are getting serious
about internet gaming. I am planning on writing my rep. I was wondering if anybody knows of a fairly accurate number on how many people play online. I seem to remember on a WPT show, they said 20 million but I'm not totally sure about that. I would like to have a decent idea of how many play. So I can ask my rep if they have any idea of how many people they will piss off if they pass the law. Thanks |

Re: How many internet players in USA?
PartyGaming released their results at the end of Feb.
They had 1.3m active real money poker players in 2005 - of which 19% where outside of the US. So 1.05m US players at Party. Obviously some of these may have signed up and dissapeared. Their unique players figure for Dec only is 559,189 (they don't give a geographic split). I think the 20m claim is fanciful. |

Would you please post the link where you got these figures. TIA [/ QUOTE ] If you go to the PartyGaming.com website there is a link for investors and a bunch of press releases in and about there. Now they are a public company there will be lots of interesting stuff they will be publishing on customer acquisition and retention costs etc. |

Re: How many internet players in USA?
Eighty One million Americans between the ages of 18 and 65 in the US have internet access. Twenty-Five percent of all these Americans would need to be internet poker players for your 20 million figure to be correct. My guess would be since the WPT is a B&M production they were estimating all poker players of any kind in the US.
There is little doubt that there is nowhere near 20 million American internet poker players. |
