In Small Stakes Hold Em, they suggest not raising with any pocket pair's higher than 99's in this position, but you guys are arguing to raise. Obviously the book is just a guide however why would they not suggest it I am curious.

how this hand got butchered makes me feel smart, so at least your friend provided me that.
Edit: once you understand the ssh ideas it's pretty appropriate to play some hands more aggresively than they suggest, so long as you're aware of when you're beat post-flop. I doubt any of the authors would open limp after 3 folds in this situation. |
