5/10 HU against Gopheresque
We just play this hand and I'm wondering why he doesn't bet flop.

Turn: ($535) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks What is our plan for the rest of the hand when he checks the turn. My thoughts on the flop were he just checked his monster on flop and now he is betting this flop unless he's already a level ahead of me I'm going to float here. |

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
what did he have in hand 1?
as to your logic in hand 2 - i don't want to give away too much, but sometimes "people play similar hands different ways." just what a little birdy told me. if you're floating, then wtf, bet? |

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
Wait, you´re floating the flop without a plan what to do when he checks to you on a blank turn?

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
He had aces in hand 1. My plan was to bet and I knew I was betting I'm just wondering if checking > betting because we have a gutshot and if we check it looks like we have a weak one pair trying to get to showdown but if we bet it looks like we were floating.

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
well if you wouldn't bet/call shove with KJ here (i don't know what your image is) then betting sucks. but if that's the case, then floating generally sucks. but in general your logic "he checked a monster so when he bet i thought i would float" after literally ONE hand of history is just really really really bad. ESPECIALLY given the different board texture, but even if this were rainbow, point still stands.

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
i feel like when he checks the turn in the second hand he's usually got showdown value and you can't really win the hand.
i think it's a pretty bad board to float in your shoes with your hand. |

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
I'm not bet/calling KJ against this villian.

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
then you should probably consider bluff raising rather than floating (or ::gasp:: folding)

Re: 5/10 HU against Gopheresque
Is bluff raising > than floating against a random aggressive HU player?

[ QUOTE ]
Is bluff raising > than floating against a random aggressive HU player? [/ QUOTE ] a flop raise is often more believable than a flop call and a turn bet on a blank turn when checked to |
