NL100 6max: TPTK on monotone reraised pot
Villain is 40/24/4.5. Is it standard just to shove here?

I might call and jam a safe turn, but shoving is fine.

Folding is bad. Calling is bad. Shoving is slightly less bad. So I guess I shove.

Re: NL100 6max: TPTK on monotone reraised pot
Advantages to calling: He might keep running his bluff, if that's what it is. If he's drawing, we get most of the money in with higher equity. We give him a chance to make a mistake, which he will not be making if we just shove over the flop, the 4th spade might save our stack if we're already behind.
Disadvantages: We might get blown off the best hand if a spade hits, we let him draw cheaply, and he might not keep running his bluff, spade might scare off worse hands that would stack off on the flop. Given that this guy is super agro, and that he'll almost always follow through on the turn, coupled with the fact that most of his legit draws have a ton of equity vs us I think I like the call better. |
