Re: Links LS and other golf sims
[ QUOTE ]
Guess I know what I'll be playing tonite after the kids go to bed. Is the online stuff still functional? Meaning, after I practice for a week can I set up a battle with Tuq? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I'm sure you can connect very easily through the Zone or (going from memory) through the game via a host IP connection. Just IM people your IP, they'll connect to it, there you go. It's a lot of fun if you get four guys to play best ball, scramble, alternate shot (the true way, with alternating teeboxes), Wolf, etc. There is a chat window in the game I used to spam the hell out of, but I went largely ignored because people were either doing other things like watching TV, or just didn't want to encourage me by responding... |

Re: Links LS and other golf sims
I've been playing Tiger Woods 2007 recently (2008 is out now), and it's a lot of fun. I've mostly been playing it on PC with EA's True Swing controls, i.e. moving your mouse back and forward so that pace and alignment affects your in-game swing. It is a little tricky at first, but now I could never go back to the old click-based swings.
I've also tried TW 2007 on the Nintendo Wii, where you hold the controller as the shaft of a golf club and physically swing it. It's obviously not as precise and detailed as a real golf simulator, but actually not that bad. It's interesting that many players who hook or slice in real-life also do so in the game. Wiis are selling for a little more than $200 these days - cheap fun! |
