I decided to call him down because I didn't think there were many hands that he'd get it all in with that I had beat. We were both very deep - close to 200BB - that I didn't want that much going in on the flop with a 7 kicker. Does anyone play this differently? |

Standard for me. I'd c/c river if didn't hit 7 or A.

Gonna bump this. My excuse is that I posted it late at night and I think a lot of people missed it!

I think you played it well.

Re: NL 25 - Flopped trips, deep-stacked, line check
I have to ask... do you think he's ever doing this without an ace?
Cause if not, then you're ahead of 4 hands on the flop and 3 hands on the turn. If you think he's got an ace here, calling down is bad. |

The small turn bet is fishy and *could* be a draw or like TT thinking you don't have the ace.

At micro limits I seem to find that continued aggression from average villain against a paired board means "I can beat your trips." This deep, out of position, calling down is going to pay off better hands and not get value from worse hands. Question: Assuming that you didn't spike a 7 on the river, what is your plan? |

Re: NL 25 - Flopped trips, deep-stacked, line check
I think this is a bluff about half the time, only because it's so unlikely he has an ace in his hand. Obviously, though, sometimes he has 33.
And, as someone else said, yeah, some people play medium-big pairs this way. |

Why didn't you reraise the river when you hit a house?
