Re: Street by street vs TerrorOfSweden, EPT Barcelona (Hand w/ masters
Todd, he should still have close to 100% of his 3bet range by the time we get to the river.
We lead flop, I don't think he folds practically any of his range. Turn is an A, which he should bet almost 100% of his range on. Then, by checking, tanking, and calling, we look incredibly weak and its a spot where a lot of players think that they can make you fold by firing the river and will. |

[ QUOTE ] Wow, so the consensus is to be prepared to call off our entire 120 BB stack with TP, mediocre kicker if we don't improve on the river? Against a guy who 3bet an UTG raiser preflop in EP? Because he's a psycho lagtard? [/ QUOTE ] His range is so wide here. He 3betting a huge range pre and never folding to the flop donk. The turn is a really good card to bluff. [/ QUOTE ] This is all fine and I agree. As I've said, I think the river is problematic because, whatever hero's toilet troubles, I just don't think villain's going to three-barrel worse. This is bad both when he shoves the river (because we're going to be behind a lot but presumably committed because he's a Scandi and we have TP and a PSB left) and when he checks behind on the river because we didn't make him put more chips in on the turn behind. |

[/ QUOTE ] This all could be correct, although the 3betting a huge range may not be, as Ansky admitted he hasn't seen Villain do it much in EP. I think my point is that at this stack depth, I'd actually like to have some degree of certainty that I'm ahead before calling off my chips. Edit: Also, something is a great bluff card because it's squarely within Villain's range. I don't think check/calling when a card appears that's likely to have hit Villain's range is a long-term +cEV play. |

reg,
i would probably raise preflop and call the repop, if you dont feel comfortable calling a repop with AJs here from TOS(and that might be a good attitude to have) I'd limp to begin with. But Ansky is an awesomely awesome player so he can get away with it in my opinion. p.s. I still check river. |

Todd,
The thing about it hitting his range is it hits a lot of worse hands. |

If you check, villain bets the river only as a bluff or if he has a lower flush. If you think villain was bluffing/floating all a long, then check. If you think he has something, then bet. I would probably bet the river rather than checking the nuts.

If you think he has something, then bet [/ QUOTE ] Given that Ansky c/c with an A on board, its unlikely that ToS will call any bet if his hand beats an A, and pretty much bets all hands that do beat and A, and might make a bluff at the diamond (probably unlikely with the c/c turn) so I think the river check is a must. edit: and might call a river c/r with a flush, but just call a river lead with a flush. but is almost guaranteed to bet it when checked to. |
