Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
[ QUOTE ]
What you should do is look at your big pots lost and won after every session and figure out why you lsot them. If you tilt, you need to stop playing when you become irritated. Learn from your mistakes and pat yourself on the pat for playing good poker in the pots you played well but lost. Even if you are results orientated, you should look at the the result of your poker ability instead and commend yourself on playing well. The money result is natural variance which comes with the job. For a poker player to not expect and nearly welcome variance is the equivelant of a bar owner being upset that he has to pay salary. Once you accept variance as part of the game you start playing better poker. [/ QUOTE ] good post |

try and go a week without looking at your account balance somewhat tough but it will help. [/ QUOTE ] That works great when u win and also when u lose. It's always a "WTF!!!" reaction when i take a look at it after a week. Like when you are on a downswing, you don't feel bad or horrible until you finally looked at it, so that way you don't worry about it when you are playing. |

Re: Results Oriented: The Struggle
[ QUOTE ]
OP: is this a joke? do u call -5 buyins a downswing? lol this is so standard, i often have +-10 buyin swings during one session. i can't understand how you would be upset losing 5 BIs [/ QUOTE ] yeah, losing 5 buyins in the first half hour of a session and going on to book a solid win for the day is very standard for someone who actually plays poker |

[ QUOTE ] Convince yourself that you are playing well or that you learned from the hands you played poorly. I had a pretty big dswing last month (at least in terms of imsabuys), and the main reason I grinded through it was I was confident I was playing well, not tilting, etc. Good ways to checkup: 1: Talking about hands over AIM 2: PokerEV 3: Pokerstove 4: Posting hands in the forum [/ QUOTE ] I wonder how your AIM CONVO went.. lol [/ QUOTE ] I have super secret people I talk to about hands obv. |
