Re: Tips please
Now that I said something constructive, I will admit that I'm actually a cashier window junkie. I don't use any of my poker winnings to spend or live on, so I have not cashed out in about 6 months. I've been treating poker more or less like a video game and the cashier window is my "score" or EXP. After I get enough EXP, I feel like I've leveled up and start taking shots in bigger games to get more EXP/hour. goddamn I am such nerd.

Re: Tips please
You've trained yourself to constantly be maximizing ev. That's why you became good. Now, maybe you've reached a lot of your goals and money isn't as big of a deal to you anymore and you are now prioritizing your health. No matter how well we are running limit is a game that [censored] with our minds because we see crazy things in a short span of time constantly. Stress and possible burnout is just around the corner so take those breaks and don't feel bad about it.
Celebrate the fact that you are not chasing down every possible dollar down like a machine. Better to also have stress free periods in your life imo. Personally I was close to 6 months ago I was close to burn out. Now, even though I've been running like a god for the last 6 months I play a lot less to keep from falling into that trap and I do not feel bad about it at all. |

THis happens to me too, and you should be taking breaks from time to time anyway. I don't see why it's a huge problem.

[/ QUOTE ] amen [/ QUOTE ] It sounds to me that he is actually hesitant to play once he makes a nice score. A boxer, for example, that wins that championship belt. If he never defends his title he can never lose it. |

[/ QUOTE ] post of the mother f0ckin year [/ QUOTE ] Yes, you can do whatever you want. For most who have a tendency to quit after booking a win there's a flipside, though, which is to often play long marathon sessions when losing. As long as you don't do this, then it's not a big problem, I think. On average most of us will be more likely to play our best when we're winning as opposed to breaking even or losing, though, so I tend to think, that quitting when winning is -ev in the long run for most of us. |
