Default Bar Stool Pundits week 2

Well last week, the BSPs benefited from one of the most publicly documented cases of cheating in the NFL in recent times. While I won't begrudge them their money, I'll put an asterisk on that one, like I do with the Barry Bonds' home run "record".

Now, on to week 2

After seeing New Orleans get crushed at home in their opener, the BSPs just can't believe they could possibly go on the road and lose to the Bucs on the road. I don't get the logic but there you go.
Take the Buccaneers +3.5

Speaking of Indy, who wasn't impressed? They looked like gods out there on the turf in New Orleans. This week, they travel on the road again, this time to visit the lowly lowdown Tennessee Titans who rushed for a mere 260 yards last week. What chance do the Titans have against the Gods? None whatsoever, but the BSPs love Indy so

take Titans +7

Lastly, could anyone have looked worse than Cleveland last week? Good god, what a mess they have over there. This one pains me the most and I can't even believe I'm going to bet on that crappy team but I will because the BSPs can't back up the truck fast enough to unload on Cincy.

Take Browns +7

I like the picks...in fact, I've made 5 bets so far, and these are 3 of them.

However, I want to note that the NO/Ind game last week was @Indy, contrary to what was said in your first 2 write-ups.

This BSP thing is new to me. So anyone that takes Indy, Cin, or NO this week is a BSP? Or is the BSP another term for the general public?

It seems like from what I have read on here is that if you are not fading the public you are a BSP. Yes, no?

I based these bets on how bad I think Tampa, Cleveland and, Ten are. Not that there are popular good teams playing them. I consider the public, but I considered that they would bet up these 3 lines and so i tried to get in early at the opening line. No good?

You should read the forum FAQ. The whole thing. if you're new here, you would really benefit

The glossary entry on BSP:

Bar Stool Pundits. Abbreviated as BSP. A term used for universal consensus from the general public, i.e. walk in to your local sports bar and ask the Bar Stool Pundits who they think is going to win. If there's a consensus, that's a BSP pick. See: Natedogg's BSP thread

already liked Titans, like Cle, loved TB. My BSP research came to the same exact conclusion [i.e. they liked Indy, liked Cincy and were 100% on NO]

I think you could've added Miami +3.5 vs. Dallas too.

Right now Tampa is +4 -115 at Bodog (+3.5 -110 at Bookmaker)

Clevland it +7.5 -115 at Bodog (+7 -110 at Bookmaker)

Tenn is +7.5 -120 at Bodog (+6.5 -110 at Bookmaker)

Is it better to pay the extra juice and get the half point for TB and Clev? How about the full point with Tenn through the 7? Thanks.

Cheers, Brad

In general, tacking on the extra half point for only an extra 5 in juice is pretty good.

I bet through a friend and Bodog shades the line back. I'm hoping the Clev line hits +7.5 somewhere at which point I'll jump. If it doesn't I'll just take +7. Love this line...
