Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
For my buy-in (3$) 12 sngs without money is really bad. I play only 10-12 a day, but with full concentration (1 table, cuz im a newbie ). You know, sometimes i think that on my buy-in bot that will fold any two and push KK and AA every time will be + player

12 sngs w/o a cash? You may want to consider another line of work. More than 6 w/o a cash I take a week off to retool my game.

Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
I'm a winning player over 2000+ tables at $20 & $30 SNGs and my longest streak w/o a cash is 11 games.

Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
I'm working on an 11 game downswing at 6.50 right now Don't think it is that odd though. Have heard of people running bad for 18 buy in etc. Standard deviation!
I think there's more in the sticky. I hit quads twice in an sng yesterday and still bubbled! |

Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
in 2000 games, 14% roi, ive had one 11 game non cash streak and one 9 game streak. Also of the ten $114 games ive played ive cahed zero times.
Sounds like your playing a lot of tables which will make you more likely to sustain long noncash streaks. |

Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
12 is brutal but that's why you need a proper roll. I'm a noob who plays the $5-10s on FT and I've went 7 or 8 without a cash and that was when running real bad. When I have a bad 4 table session I tend to up my aggression next set to avoid getting nitty when running bad. Next session, if the table texture warrants (lots of wt rocks), raise your [censored] up, cbet almost every flop, and generally try to get your aggression back. Cash will follow.

12 without a cash is perfectly normal. Was down 10 buyins in 15 STT's today before grabbing just a third win in the last 64 to make it not as bad... variance is [censored] me at the moment, but still at 8% for the month so I don't care

Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
12 isn't out of the question by any means. I play 6-man and have gone 11 (maybe it was 13), which is my worst, but on the flip side I've placed 1st 4 or 5 in a row and cashed 8 in a row at one point.
Let's be incredibly generous and say you cash 40% of the time. So, a run of 12 in a row happens once every 1000 games or so. Incredibly frustrating, but no big deal. If you go to sharkscope and look at some of the top players in the $36-100 bracket, you'll see guys that have run flat for 1000 games in which they've easily had streaks of 10, 11, 12 games in a row. |

Re: normal downswings for 9 or 10 man sngs??
Read the FAQ, but yes 12 game OOM streaks are common, 1k breakeven stretches happen, 30 buyin downswings happen, etc etc etc.
In regards to the other question, people *can* play 200+ SNGs in a day... people usually don't because they like to keep their sanity. Me thinks this thread has ran it's course though since you've gotten the 10 obligatory "it's normal" responses as well as the obligatory "read the FAQ" response. |
