AJo Turn c/r
AussieBattler has told me I need to work on playing against turn c/r's, so here's one I'd like everyone to take a look at.
MP1 is 24/9/1.8 over 150 hands. My 2 month old notes notes say he is loose but nothing about being aggressive (obviously his stats are somewhat aggressive). Button is a donkey, sees any flop, will call down any pair, etc. PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP1 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, 2 folds, MP1 calls. Flop: (7.50 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button calls, MP1 calls. Turn: (5.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button calls, MP1 raises, Hero calls, Button calls. River: (11.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) MP1 bets, Hero calls, Button folds. Final Pot: 13.25 BB On the turn I have top pair. I'm getting 9:1 immediate, plus I think button is likely to come along. The river is a crying call getting 12:1. How'd I do? |

Re: AJo Turn c/r
I think calling down here is a leak but I do it almost always anyway unless I have a very good read.

Re: AJo Turn c/r
If the button wasn't in the hand, I don't mind a call down(but you're still probably screwed), however, a c/r in a "protected" pot is always a sign major strength and you should be able to safely fold, especially against a known tightie

Re: AJo Turn c/r
with the overlay coming from this other retard calling down if OK IMO
a somewhat aggressive villain might have wanted to wait till the turn to raise an ace (perhaps he didnt' like the board very much) ... from the turn decision you are getting 10-12:2 (this doesn't look to bad to me) there are probably a few 8x hands are friend plays from mp (but it's not super wide) 86s, 87s, 89s, 8Ts, J8s, Q8s, K8so, A8so a bunch of aces maybe this is even a Ten sometimes or retard on a flush draw(I've seen both) |

Re: AJo Turn c/r
I really want to fold here, but I probably call down too. Make sure to note what he had.

Re: AJo Turn c/r
I know I call down turn C/Rs with TP and OP waaaaay too much, esp HU ... They are a beatch to get away from.
So, in this hand I'd call down, especially with BB overlay. And lose it to something like TT or AT. |

Re: AJo Turn c/r
button may be a donkey but there is absolutely no way you have the equity to 3bet there... just call it down is fine
