Re: Dan Harrington. Justified stiff?
It's even worse in the pit games. Have any of you played craps lately? I mean these dealers are just glorified panhandlers. Begging for tips is just awkward and embarrassing.
I think it's hilarious when dealers always start these threads and/or chime in on them. If anything, it probably makes all the readers much LESS inclined to leave an extra tip. You guys should just keep your mouths shut and hope people don't realize that the 3% is taken out. At least then you may get some extra tips due to ignorance. |

I think tippin should be optional, but if your not going to tip, you should tell your waiter/dealer before he serves you, only fair [/ QUOTE ] Just out of interest, do you understand what tipping is for? |

Re: Dan Harrington. Justified stiff?
What is offensive are the continued posts whining about how much someone should or should not tip. Why should security guards who were doing their job in escorting him receive $20 instead of a buck? Why are you not whining that he didn't tip the doorman at his hotel 20X more than his standard tip that night because he won 1.6Mil?

I think it's hilarious when dealers always start these threads and/or chime in on them. [/ QUOTE ] Well, again, I don't think OP is a dealer. I mean it's been established that Dan's tip thing isn't exactly insider info. But why can't dealers "chime in" on these threads? I mean, if posters like yourself are going to make insulting generalizations -like calling pit dealers "glorified panhandlers", as you did- you don't expect that someone who deals pit games might take issue to that and respond? Just because you see some dealers hustling tokes doesn't mean everyone does it. If I made a blanket statement that all Burger King fry cooks are idiots, wouldn't you take offense? Or whatever you do for money, I don't care. |

Re: Dan Harrington. Justified stiff?
Dealers are all stupider than hell, but they CAN be educated. It usually takes me like 5 minutes to explain to the dealers that they need a union. If anyone wanted to pay me fulltime, I'd organize LA in six months or so np.

Dealers are all stupider than hell [/ QUOTE ] As if that really means anything coming from you, Snowball. Also, lol @ "stupider" - please stay away from trying to educate anyone. Whether unions are the answer is another matter, but a lot of dealers are already union. Of course I'm not in CA, we don't have to be as tolerant as CA dealers do. I'm not really interested in a flame war, and it looks like we're down to the "all dealers are dumb" and "tipping is gay" crowd now, so I'll just leave it at that. |
