Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
I agree with levaa that 600 could induce a string of callers which crushes our hand strength. we hope a donkey sees steal and shoves or mp2 decides to throw some chips away. to say wrong wrong wrong is a little strong and unfair to a player like levaa who writes intelligent posts.winning the pot now is NOT a bad result.

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
[ QUOTE ]
i think about 600 is too less with 5 limpers, as even the first limper gets 1:2 pot odds, which justify a call with a wide range of hands. if the first limper calls you get a cascade of callers behind. your goal is to get headsup with your high PP - so i'd make it about 1k here. [/ QUOTE ] Agree - thought general rule of thumb is 3x + limpers so that argues for t800-900 - maybe a little more to make it look like a bit of a steal so some dude with J9o looks us up. I have no problem taking this pot down without a showdown given how much is already in there but would like a caller or two. UTG and MP1 most likely to call any bet here due to stack sizes so I bet they both come along you don't want anyone else |

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
Cover each limp and add 3x the bb... 500 plus 300 = 800.

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
I'm leaning towards a push here, although you might get a call with a bet of 800, I think you are more likely to fold people out, and because of the strength of that bet, I doub't you are going to get much action after the flop unless they have caught up.
I know its a massive over-bet with your stack size, but none of the limpers match you, so that reduces the bet to really only 5000 (or 8-9 times pot) With this many limpers, I think at least one or two of them have lower PPs, and a big overpush looks a bit like AK/AQ so I think there's a pretty big chance you are going to get looked up, especially by one of the shorter stacks. This is part of the whole aim being to make you opponants make big mistakes... getting their whole stack in as a 4:1 dog is massive, wheres putting in 800 with an ace or a king and folding if they miss isn't, especially since they have a good chance of getting another bet out of you if they do hit. |

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
QQ is easy to play with 2-3 effective PSBs behind esp when in position guys don't be scared of multiway pots. You want them all to call your chip equity is largest when they all call your PFR, not when you get it HU.
The thing is ya 6 way you win 30% of the time HU you win 70 but the 6 way pot you end up tripling up+ when you get it in. |

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
So if you double up in 70% and triple up in 30% the HU variant has a much higher EV.

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
that's more or less PF equity. HU he c/f a lot of flops while multiway when you flop an OP you are getting it in vs someone.
the math is just quick hand but trust me you rather have 5 people for 500 more then 2 for 800 more or 1 for 1200 more. Also it's easy to play Axx and Kxx flops in a 5 way pot you don't need to cbet you can check behind hope for your turned 2 outer and prob fold to a turn bet. |

Re: QQ with a bunch of limps
theres no math for each board texture but it's much easier to play a 5 way pot with QQ when the board comes Axx and Kxx cuz one of them has you beat everytime and like in ToP you only put in money when ahead.
