fold the flop. Turn cap is questionable. Also: DO NOT RAISE THAT RIVER, SIR. A single raise was bad. Even considering 4 betting it is just awful. I'm not trying to be rude here, but you really need to have a read that villain thinks 2 pair is the nuts, before you go hog wild with the 2nd worst set in a live game.

Online, you can go more bets with sets vs. the average player, but the average live player doesn't really give you this much action with a worse hand often enough to justify all the raising you are doing.

There is no cap head up. Also, I didnt 4bet the river, but the fact that he didnt reraise the turn but donks the river makes this seem like AK alot more than any set.

[/ QUOTE ]

the thing is, you didn't give us a description of the SB so we're just assuming he's not a total lag retard that would put in this much action with AK

when he stops on the turn I would be convinced i have the nuts, so why would the river change that? most overplayed KK in history?

You are correct. I referred to him as villain from my previous post which doesnt really help. I also am not completely sure that my read was that he was totally lag at the time. If I were to post this hand with him being an unknown then you guys are probably right, but I could certainly see alot of people play AK this way, except for the river bet. My hand has set written all over it.

I am sure he is overplaying AK, but not sure enough to reraise.

if nothing else, we need to raise river to save face - cannot just call and then table a set, its disgraceful for an aggressive player... makes table snicker and say 'does your wife ever let you play a hand?' - also, villain is probably incapable of reading our play, giving credit to our opponents is wasting dollars imo... give him a couple more bumps to let him know you mean business... seriously though i'd go again and call down from there and laugh when he tables some two pr... i would try to include a slowroll if possible to salt the suckout wound...

I meant to say it looks like a set to any competent hand reader, but this guy probably thinks I am overaggressive. Thats the way most bad villains think of me so I am constantly putting in more action than most people in my game, bc I never get credit for having anything. His general vibe was that of a laggro fish. I also should have mentioned how fast he bet the river. This is what made me think AK, bc to just call 4 and insta-fire when the K hits makes no sense for 99. In fact if any rag rolled off and he fired I might not have raised.

Fair enough; maybe he puts you on an aces up hand that he now beats on the river. (Random thought: maybe the guy thought he couldn't raise any more on the turn since there were still 3 players active when you 4-bet.)
