NL25 AK - should I be loving this flop or just folding to aggression?
UTG+1 and BTN are complete unknowns.
BB is 12/4/3 is over 135 hands Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 9 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $4.50 BB: $32.00 swainy83 (UTG): $22.25 UTG+1: $17.40 MP1: $30.45 MP2: $25.00 MP3: $2.85 CO: $26.20 BTN: $10.65 Preflop: swainy83 is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (9 Players) swainy83 raises to $0.75, UTG+1 calls $0.75, 4 folds, BTN calls $0.75, SB folds, BB calls $0.50 Flop: ($3.10) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 Players) BB checks, swainy83 bets $2.00, UTG+1 folds, BTN calls $2.00, BB raises all-in to $31.25, Pot Size: $38.35 ($0.40 Rake) I'm way behind TT, JJ, AJ, KQ, JTs - all i can really beat is AQ, but i doubt he's only holding AQ. Is this an easy fold? He must be putting me on at least AK.... |

Raise more PF, bet more on flop, fold to shove. You're right, there's about nothing you can beat. To me, it looks like he is protecting a two pair like JT...

Yeah, you probably have to let this one go here with this action. However, you could consider some alternatives to your preflop raise here depending on what you believe the most likely outcome will be.

When you bet less when you think that the pot is going be raised anyway, opponents could pick up on that and raise you with worse hands knowing you don't like the flop and / or you are feeling insecure about this hand anyway. |

Re: NL25 AK - should I be loving this flop or just folding to aggression?
Yeah raise more PF to try to get things HU or 3 way. I've noticed that 3x BB seems to get alot more calls than 4x BB for whatever reason at 25NL.
On the flop you you have to fold. I don't necassarily see anything wrong with the 2/3 pot bet. I don't see at as weak. It will thin the field and let you see who is interested. A pot sized bet won't get rid of any draws anyway. |

PF raise to $1. 4xBB+ 1BB per limper is standard.
2/3 flop bet is standard and OK. BB c/r AI smells like a draw- but I probably fold anyways. Nothing on this hand would have played much different if you'd raised played 2+2 standard to $1 and bet 3/4pot to pot on flop. |
