headphone jack problems (dell 9300)
I got a Dell Inspiron 9300, and the headphone jack is starting to play up, i can get perfect sound through headphones, however when i remove the headphones the internal speakers don't engage.
I am 100% sure this is a faulty hardware problem, as i can get sound through the internal speakers if i play with the jack, however this isn't permanent, it seems as though the hardware doesn't recognize that the headphones have been removed. I was just wondering if there is a way i can disable the headphone jack by itself (through device manager or such) so that the sound will play through the internal speakers? Any help is appreciated |

Re: headphone jack problems (dell 9300)
You can't disable the headphone jack via software. Most likely a hardware problem such as a loose connection or bad chip.
There is a know problem with some dell models where the sound completely stopped working (even with headphone) and an updated the bios fixed the problem. You can try these updates if they apply to you: http://support.dell.com/support/download...p;fileid=142189 http://support.dell.com/support/download...p;fileid=128550 |
