MT2R,

That Sox team was way better than last year's Cardinals team. Interesting how you talk about how good their core was in the playoffs, when the Sox rolled through their post season.

Also, bad teams don't lead their league in wins.

The entire season. Wire to wire. Lost one playoff game. One.

yeah...but should've been down 2-0 in the ALCS
then, got the roof open at Houston

don't act like it was the Bulls going 15-2 in the playoffs

no

Monroe is a lifetime .258/.303/.448 hitter who strikes out a ton. He also has better splits against lefties which means bye bye Orange Guy again.

Rightly or wrongly, this organization clearly has no interest in Murton for either the short term or long term. I mean, is Monroe really a huge upgrade platooning with Floyd as opposed to Murton? I don't get it. Combine this with the fact Fox started over Murton last night, and the picture is pretty clear. Murton's never going anywhere with this organization.

Okay after reading more about this, I like it a lot. Monroe kills lefties and apparently is quite good defensively, so he is an upgrade over Fox or Murton and will platoon with Floyd in right, allowing us to keep DeRosa mostly at 2nd base. Seems like a good move, especially with Detroit also sending cash.
