I climbed about 20 yards up the great pyramid at Giza, that was pretty amazing.

I'm not sure if they let you do it anymore, they probably shouldn't, and even back then I don't think I should have.

Oh when I wrote this I was thinking anything really. Like stuff as touristy as Statue of Liberty. Anything that is worth experiencing at least once in your lifetime.

Seeing various world landmarks or monuments isn't what I got at all out of the original post but it does say 'places' in the subject-line so whatever.

We had a thread in OOT about the New 7 Wonders of the World a few weeks ago that might be worth checking out.
Discussion of such stuff ranging from the Taj Majal, Machu Pichu, Grand Canyon, etc etc.

Mardi Gras (done 2000)
WSOP ME (done 2006)
Visit Europe (done 2001)
Vegas (multiple)

Someone cool to do once that I'll never do again is drive across the country. I drove from Orlando, FL to Charlotte, NC, then jumped in my buddy's car and drove 36 hours straight through to Los Angeles, CA. There really are texas tumbleweeds.

Things I want to do: Visit Niagara Falls, Take an Alaskan Cruise (scheduled for 09).

I spent 2 days in Tikal. There are several structures you can climb. Very well excavated and preserved. It is an ominous feeling to be standing at a place where thousands of human sacrifices occurred. Definitely worth the trip if you are in the Belize/ Guatemala area.

European or South American rivalry soccer match
I am not a big soccer fan but there is no atmosphere like it at any sporting event I have ever attended.

Seconded. Theoretically the World Cup should be better, but it doesn't always work out that way because of how tickets are sold, you might not know in advance what game you're gonna see, and the game might be played in a country that doesn't care much about the 2 teams involved.

Some good stuff here (skydive, carnival, world cup, skydiving etc).
I cannot wait to see a champions league final live!

The San Gennaro festival in nyc is pretty sweet. Been there twice. Lotta good food, games, and hustlers (although I did win a massive stuffed toy there at a billiard game.) I have a bunch of authentic soccer jerseys, but my favourite one is the bootleg AC millan jersey that my friend bought me at this festival for $15 I think.

Some more to add:
>Monaco
>Goa
>SCUBA diving/paragliding

Super Bowl
Patriot Day in Boston

Always thought it would be cool to visit Cape Canaveral during a Space Shuttle launch

Another fun event (done twice) was the ticker tape parade down the Canyon of Heroes when the Yankees won the World Series. Great, great time.
