self destruction: Is this common as ITM approaches?
44 ppl Sat. for a USPT ME at a nearby casino. 450 buyin, 4 seats and cash for 5th place. I have played very well, for the four hours preceeding this hand. Making tough calls and big laydowns, as well as nursing a short stack back from a M of 6 to 11 or 12 at the time that this hand takes place.
12 ppl remaining. Last Hand before the break. Blinds 600/1200. 800/1600 when it resumes 7 ppls at my table I am UTG 22000 and raise to 4000 (AsJs) Which for some reason after being folded multiple times OOP that day, suddenly looked like a Monster hand. UTG+1 11500 reraises allin.(UTG+1 Is a bit of a nit.Has made a comeback in last 2 rounds from 500 in chips. Has played and showndown 3 or 4 hand. I remember 77 and ak. Won all and here he is.) folds to BB. BB 18000t tanks for 90 sec. Calls.( Chip leader much of the time prior to hand. LAG play. Not completely suprised by his call) I Call! WTF? what can i beat that UTG+1 raises me with? And what about the over call from the BB. I dont know what I was thinking, accept that as the cards were about to flp, I was aware of what terrible call I made. How do I play and read table so well and then spew all of it in one hand? Then with 4000 or so left, BB raises me allin on 684r board and I CALL! What is going on here? What can I do to maintain control of myself? Thoughts? |
