uNL odds quiz
A quiz about odds. Examine the hands and determine whether Hero has odds to make the call. The first question is an implied odds PF hand. For the other 4, you'll have to put villain(s) on a range, calculate the size of the pot and bets and determine whether you have odds to make the call.
NOTE: These hands are somewhat made up, so no criticism of how Hero got to the point of decision is needed. Hand 1 Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $49.50 BB: $52.95 Hero (UTG): $82.80 CO: $44.10 BTN: $100.90 Preflop: Hero is dealt 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players) Hero raises to $2.00, CO folds, BTN calls $2.00, SB raises to $8.50, BB calls $8.00, Hero... Re: uNL odds quiz
Hand 5 is hand 5. Hand 4, hand 4, etc. The poll is screwed up for some reason. This used to happen before but it was a bug in the system that was supposed to be fixed. I deleted thread and tried to redo but it still came out inverted, so I will just leave it as is.

Re: uNL odds quiz
1. No, calling here we absolutely have to play fit or fold I don't think that we have the implied odds to call getting 20:6 ish right now.
2. I get that we need ~32% equity here. We're 25% against a set and 46% against an overpair (without a heart, might change it slightly with the BDFD) His range is way more rated to overpairs than to sets given his UTG PFR, therefore I snapcall this. 3. We need around 36.4% equity to call here, I kind of disregard CO because shortstacks are donkeys. Not having pokerstove makes me useless here since this is such a range based question, but we have 55% equity versus TPTK, 38% equity versus a made straight, and 27% equity versus a set. Given this guy's history for going nuts and overshoving with a wide range, I can call here. 4. Lol no. Very little layover, pretty much only our spades are live and maybe not even them. Folderooni. 5. Ugh. Overbet shoving first to act into a 4 way pot on a rag board. This guy has a straight or a set too often here for me to call. This is the only one I didn't do the math on, surprise me and tell me to call. |

Re: uNL odds quiz
i said call all of them because that's what I see the donks doing and I can't beat the donks so their way must be right.

Re: uNL odds quiz
Hand 1: you need to be getting almost 18:1 implied odds to call if you think he has a bigger pair. this is clearly not the case
hand 2: you are only getting 1.5 to one to draw to your straight. given read that villain can fold an overpair this is a fold hand 3: you are getting about 2:1, and are probably a 3:2 dog, so i call hand 4: easy fold hand 5: this is an easy call |

Re: uNL odds quiz
Great post, so much fun. I am surprised that 3 and 5 is a call, even if we think the other villain is hogging our outs. 1, 2 and 4 are folds. Hopefully somebody with more time on his hands will post some detailed math.

Great post, so much fun. [/ QUOTE ]I disagree. People should know how to do this esp. since sites have the handy "total pot amount" somewhere on the table unless you're stupid enough to take that off. If people can't do that and add/multiply/divide they deserve to lose every penny. |
