not a great spot oop
villain is one of those really tight, really aggressive guys, but not a nit. i haven't seen him much but based on other players who fit his description, he's probably relatively straightforward.
i think i can safely check and fold, but is there value to squeeze out of him? i really hate the river card since i'm not sure if he even calls J8 preflop, so i'm hoping for JT or an underpair i bet 201 but i think i should've made it closer to 169 if i'm going to bet at all Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $3/$6 Blinds - 3 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) Hero (SB): $681.60 BB: $809.20 BTN: $1,074.10 Preflop: Hero is dealt J Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players) BTN folds, Hero raises to $24.00, BB calls $18.00 Flop: ($48) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 (2 Players) Hero bets $36.00, BB calls $36.00 Turn: ($120) 3 (2 Players) Hero bets $79.00, BB calls $79.00 River: ($278) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero |

Re: not a great spot oop
Go for it
If he's really aggro and he's good he's going to be balancing a bit by raising you alot PF or on the flop with hands that have you beat. I like 220, I don't want it too small that he doubts that we could be bluffing. |

Re: not a great spot oop
yea, looks like a spot for thin value. probably would err on the smaller side though, i dont think this is a good time to try and level him with an overbet.

Re: not a great spot oop
Generally there's no value. If there is it comes from your image.

Re: not a great spot oop
Serious question. Is your image agrro enough that he's calling 3 barrels with JT?

Re: not a great spot oop
I think you are probably ahead at this point 50/50. I doubt very much that he has a hand he wants to bluff with, and I doubt he will VB a worse hand (unless you have tendencies you are not telling us about that make him think a VB with J8 would be good if you checked).
I think the EV is similar if you VB or c/f. I'd VB just because I want someone to think twice about calling my second barrels and I generally hate showing the table that I can c/f after firing two streets. Also betting makes you look a little donkish, which is good because when you hit big and someone has reason to be scared, he can always talk himself into you going crazy with TPGK. |
