Got this email today (my resume is on monster as i'm looking for jobs):


We have found your resume at monster.com and would like to suggest you a "Transfer manager" vacancy. We have thoroughly studied your resume and are happy to inform you that your skills completely meet our requirements for this position.


Our company buy, sell, and exchange digital currencies, like E-gold and E-bullion.


This is a part-time position. Your schedule will be flexible. You will need to spend on average 1-2 hours per day, Monday-Friday. This is a work-at-home position. All communication will be online.

General requirements:

* Honesty, responsibility and promptness in operations;

Necessary requirements:

* You must have your own Bank of America account for processing payments between clients ( If you do not have the account - please, register one )





A position within our company on a trial period for one month starting from the beginning of the work will be offered to the successful applicants. During this trial period you will be receiving training and online support while working and being paid. Employees on a one month trial period are evaluated at least one week prior to the end of their trial period. The supervisor can recommend termination, during the trial period. At the completion of the trial period, the supervisor can recommend continued employment, extension of trial period, or termination.


During the trial period you will be paid $1,500 per month. You will also be keeping 8 percent commission from every payment received from our customer. With the current volume of clients on average your overall income will add up to $3,000 USD per month. After the trial period your base salary will go up to $2,250 USD per month, plus 8 percent commission.After the trial period you may ask for additional hours or proceed full-time.

3k/mo for 2 hours of work a day? So $75/hr for work that it sounds like anyone could do? definitely sounds too good to be true, but why not e-mail for more info?

It sounds like a scam to me. the line that says you "completely meet our requirements" is weird, out of place considering their vague requirements, and overzealous.

It don't like the sound of this bit. Why would you use your own (non-business) account? Unless you'll be running some form of franchise.

What's the name of the company?

People like James Turk and governmental organisations such as the Perth Mint run similar operations to what your email described. They offer 'gold grammes' which trade like cash so you can use your credit/debit card against a credit/debiy line of gold and/or silver instead of a 'normal' peper currency. The company in your email sound like a similar operation.

Having said that, your email sounds a little vague and dodgy. If it's genuine, it sounds like a good deal for additional income.

Isn't this similar to how pokersites process cashouts nowadays?

Most of the time you will come away with profits as promised(unlike a typical scam), but if things go wrong, the counterparties will take it out on you(through gov't) when they can't reach the Israeli-based owners of Pokerstars.

Did the email come through monster or did it just say they found you there? Is there anything to shows they actually saw you on monster or could it just be a spam message that hopes you've been on monster recently (similar to the Bank of America phishing emails)? If you think it's a phishing scam, send it to monster and see what they say.
