Re: Karl Rove Steals Elections
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Have any of the people who are complaining about Rove stealing the election and such bothered to look at how many votes the Republicans lost by the election being called early for Gore? Why do I doubt this.... [/ QUOTE ] Why don't you tell us? [/ QUOTE ] The basic argument is that the networks called Florida for Gore at 7:50pm EST, with the polls closing at 8:00pm EST. However the panhandle part of florida is in the central time zone, so the polls didnt close there for another hour. the panhandle is heavily conservative. Some people think that a lot of bush voters ended up staying home because the election had already been called for gore. People like Palast aren't interested in what actually happened during the election, they are interested in promoting one side. He may actually be right about what Rove did, I don't know, but either way I don't give him very much credibility. The same way I wouldn't give much credibility to someone who ran around complaining about the "liberal media bias" which called the race early but ignored the other claims. |

In a February 12, 2003 statement [ QUOTE ] In very clear words, Osama bin Laden told the people of Iraq to rise up against both American aggression and against "socialist" Saddam Hussein. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] another one who posts in irrelevant comment responding to the claim they were AT WAR. You may also not want to put too much trust in public statements by OBL. some war |

Actually MrMon, you're pretty much wrong there too. The People's Weekly World mainly functions to bamboozle workers and leftists into voting for the democratic party. |

Re: Karl Rove Steals Elections
I'm irritated. Palast makes a huge statistical error about 4:30 in.
He first says taht the statistics demonstrate that if you are a black voter, your vote is 900% more likely to be miscounted than if you are white. Fine, I don't doubt it. Then he goes on to mention the New Mexico results in 2004 - that Bush won by 5,900 votes with 30,000 miscounted. He then goes on to say that 88% of the miscounted votes, based on the 900% statistic, came from black voters. Seriously. [censored] horrible. Watching the rest of it now. |

"People like Palast aren't interested in what actually happened during the election, they are interested in promoting one side. "
The reason Palast found out about this, is because Karl Rove sent him 500 e-mails detailing what he was doing. The BBC register GeorgeWBush.com the campaing e-mail was GeorgeWBush.org hilarity ensues. He's not simply a partisan... he is a partisan with A LOT of evidance. |

[/ QUOTE ] I find the tactic of offering one's opinion and then treating it as fact to be the perfect example of logical fallacy. In regards to the above, perhaps one should be more concerned about the credibility of the information that both he and Kennedy offered to their audience than with challenging his personal credibility based upon opinion? Did you watch the whole video? Please re-view the last 15 minutes. Knowledge is power, and Ignorance is bliss…….until the blissfulness wears off and one has to deal with the ugliness of reality. |
