villain is 20/18 tag, this is my first time i have 3bet him, i hadnt done much so far

i would bet more on the flop so i could comfortably shove on the turn

Bet/call. I'd expect him to have a mid pocket pair here quite a bit that really can't withstand a double barrel. He may even fold QQ/JJ. If he shoves it's not the end of the world, you have pretty huge equity against one pair hands. I'd expect a set to have raised on the flop given that it's decently draw heavy.
