Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
Just curious.
The reason I ask is that, the other day on fulltilt playing 0.1/0.25, this guy c/r the flop three times in a row. So when I actually reached the flop and he did it again I though 'ahah! a bluff!' and shoved (I had middle pair or something). Needless to say he wasnt bluffing. So has anyone ever seen a c/r as a bluff at uNL? |

Re: Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
I have performed a check-raise bluff at uNL from time to time (very rarely).
Don't think I have ever seen one that I know of, but I may have folded to one or two before |

Re: Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
Oh yes. Especially if you raise a lot preflop and cbet the flops. Your opponents will after a short time start CRing your cbet on the flop.
Here is a hand I played yesterday: Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $42.55 Hero (BB): $124.55 UTG: $39.40 MP: $74.30 CO: $28.70 BTN: $50.45 Preflop: Hero is dealt 7 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players) 4 folds, SB calls $0.25, Hero raises to $2.00, SB calls $1.50 Flop: ($4) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K (2 Players) SB checks, Hero bets $3.50, SB raises to $9.00, Hero calls $5.50 Turn: ($22) 5 (2 Players) SB bets $12.00, Hero calls $12.00 River: ($46) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets all-in for $19.55, Hero calls $19.55 Pot Size: $85.10 ($3 Rake) SB had J 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ([Jd 7h] a pair of Fives) and LOST (-$42.55) Hero had 7 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (a straight, Eight high) and WON (+$39.55) |

Re: Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
i check-raise bluff the turn quite often against certain player types. i will occasionally do it on the flop against a looshish opponent when i am pretty confident the board did not help him. not so much though, because i almost never cold-call raises preflop oop with non-pair hands in the first place, and i just about never check-raise with the lead.

Re: Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
I do it a couple times every session. Usually when I'm on tilt. If someone did it three times in a row, they clearly are full of [censored] at least once.

Re: Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
I do it frequently actually, mostly when I've called a pre flop raise out of the blinds from an active button or cut off, I'll also float in this spot sometimes, and occasionally I'll even c/raise turn with air
fwiw, I think hero played this hand poorly, calling the flop raise is ok, but hero can't continue on turn: [ QUOTE ] Oh yes. Especially if you raise a lot preflop and cbet the flops. fwiw, I think hero played this hand poorly, calling the flop raise is ok, but hero can't continue on turn: [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Went through this hand with a 2+2er after the session, and evaluated expressed and implied odds on both flop and turn. We came to the same conclusion. Reason I posted this hand was to show an example of where I got CRd on the flop with total air. |

Yes people check-raise bluff me quite a bit. It's something you run into when you anger players with non-stop C-betting

Re: Ever seen a check-raise bluff at uNL?
I am known by Stars NL2 and NL5 villains as a triple barrel checkraise bluffer. Don't know if others do it, I have heard of BoostedJ double barrel checkraise bluffing before at high stakes (after I told someone who helps me I triple barrel checkraise bluff). I only do this when I am on super monkey tilt though.
