Phil Laak representing the best poker players???
Can someone tell me how Phil Laak is chosen to play in this computer match? He is a mediocre player who got lucky being famous thanks to a hooded sweatshirt. He certainly is no true authority on any game of poker.

From what I know he is a pretty good cash game player, though I'm not totally sure how great he is at limit.

Laak has an interest in computer programming (He was involved in the other big bot v. human LHE game a few years back) and is highly visible. Why not Laak?
Do you think the results of the match even matter? The team is going to keep improving the software regardless who wins, there'll be more matches in the future. |

He played professionally backgammon before turning to poker, so he's clearly good at math and making quick calculations too. |
