There are certain positions where this is acceptable - Bartlett and Casilla/Castillo are fine in the middle infield because they are all defensively excellent. Your third baseman cannot be the Nick Punto experiment, and your corner outfielders are embarrassing (sans Cuddyer who is having a good year). I won't even bring up the DH.

Bartlett has been bad defensively this year. Our corner outfielders are embarrassing (except for the RF). OK, lol.

Kubel .255/.310/.421 3.5VORP
Tyner .276/.325/.327 -1.1VORP
Ford .237/.310/.351 -1.1VORP

Punto .213/.306/.281 -11.7VORP

pretty pathetic

[/ QUOTE ]

Blah. I agree Tyner and Ford and Punto are awful. Kubel's pretty mediocre. My point was probably a nit. corner outfielders are bad, cept for the RF. Like saying, the Twins bullpen sucks, except for Nathan, Neshek, Guerrier and Reyes.

Right, but 3 of the 4 corner outfielders are embarrassing, only one is decent. They play only one position, but they are still the majority of the corner outfielders.

I'm happy with Kubel in left. He is above replacement level both at the plate and in the field and he only has like 600 some career major league ABs, so hes probably going to get better. He could easily end up being a left handed Cuddyer.

Hey, we are 24-19 since June 1, which is quite the improvement. We are also coming off a 5-4 roadtrip where we went to Cleveland, Boston, and Detroit. I think that's a heck of an accomplishment for this team. Watch out, Central, we're on the rise!

Yea, huge roadtrip for the royals. Probably deserved a sweep here this weekend. I always liked Buddy Bell when he managed here he just never had enough talent to work with. If the Royals can pick up a good prospect or two for Dotel before the deadline they'll be in good shape for next season me thinks.

The Royals need more than a few prospects. They simply cannot contend in the AL Central.

Well, us Twins fans have seen the writing on the wall for most of the year. After getting swept by the Blue Jays, we can stick a fork in our beloved team. We just don't have "it" this year. That "it" that we had in our division winner years.

Hopefully, we become sellers this week. Bye Mr Hunter. Adios Luis Castillo.
