Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
While I love Risk and enjoy playing Axis and Allies, although I think I can count on one hand the number of times I've completed a game, my favorite game of all time is Stratego.
Stratego rocks on so many levels, one on one, secrecy, and of course strategy. Unfortunately, I don't play it as often as I wish, as at the age of 35 it's kind of hard to find someone to break out the old Stratego board with. Mostly the competition I've faced was pretty weak, although I would love to play with some of the great minds of 2+2, one of these days I might actually play the online pay by month version. |

Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
Risk in college involved beer, which made the game shorter but hilarious.

Regarding Battleship, I was playing that online until the other day, when it somehow disappeared from the Atari website.

[ QUOTE ]
Chess + Go - two of my hobbies. Both are deep games that reward strategic thinking and can be enjoyed on several different levels. [/ QUOTE ] Go is my favourite board game and I was fanatical about it until I got into poker. I played chess quite a while back, but I find now if I try to play I can't get into the linear mode of thinking that game requires after playing go so long. |

Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
Risk, because while it's a fairly simple game, there's a true skill to the game.
Timing and planning are super critical to being good at this game. Also, if you play for points (dominategame), it's important to know when to settle for 2nd. |
