WSOP player claims he folded AA on the bubble
[ QUOTE ]
Alfred Megrabyan Survives with Jacks Alfred Megrabyan shoved all in with J-J. He was called by a player with {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Alfred Megrabyan's Jacks held up and he survived on the bubble. "Man, that takes a lot of balls," said one player from an adjacent table who admitted he folded A-A at least once over the last thirteen hands. [/ QUOTE ] I don't mean to start one of these threads, but this was just on the Card Player update. They're one from the money in the WSOP main event and playing hand-by-hand. This is still a very -EV play. Did I miss something. Does anybody think this guy is lying? |

Re: WSOP player claims he folded AA on the bubble
shouldn't he get the soft play penalty for folding the nuts?
it is giving the other players at his table an unfair advantage...when players at other tables get AA their table mates are at the disadvantage of having to play against them |

lol you're shocked someone made a -ev play? [/ QUOTE ] This particular play is horrendous. Can someone make the money without knowing that AA is the BEST POSSIBLE STARTING HAND? At the very least, he could push preflop and guarantee that his money gets in good. Even if he just wins the blinds. I mean, he must not want to be a millionaire. And then he tells someone what a dufus he is as though he is bragging. |

I think his goal for the tournament was to make it ITM. Anything else is gravy. It's essentially a satellite for him.

[/ QUOTE ] this would have made sense (in a way) last year, when you could have gotten in for a lot less than 10k. This year, this guy put 10k of his own money up. Why would you do that if 20k is such incredible life changing money? |

[/ QUOTE ] If I got in through a $200 satellite, had no fold equity, was several hands from the blinds, and $20K would mean a lot to me, I'd fold AA on the bubble. |
