It's unethical but it will never result in forfeiture of the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Never say never. |

[ QUOTE ] It's unethical but it will never result in forfeiture of the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Never say never. [/ QUOTE ] For instance, in this thread, RR & others (some dealer(s)) said that miscalling your hand would forfeit the pot -- even if the other guy had mucked his cards. I don't like that rule, at all -- even though it prevents this angle shooting, mistakes do happen -- and I'd much rather just highly emphasize the "protect your hand rule". |

Re: How to deal with Angle Shooter?
The guy never miscalled his hand, if the OP's story was accurate. Saying "Do you have a set, too?" is far different from saying "I have a set."

[/ QUOTE ] Here is the test i will put to this - If you think this is OK go try this in a non-licensed (illegal) card room and lets see what happens to you. When i started the thread i didn't think it would be an argument of if this ok or not but just how people would deal with the person......it didn't even occur to me that some would think this was an OK way to approach playing the game. |

Re: How to deal with Angle Shooter?
People overcall their own hands like 80% of the time at hollywood park. It's always "flush", "straight", "2 pair" etc.
I've never been fooled into mucking, and I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone else get fooled into mucking either. The thing is that the world is really overcome with sleezeballs. There's no way to combat them. They just keep coming and coming and coming. One busts out, and another replaces him. |

Re: How to deal with Angle Shooter?
All the money went in on the flop?
And you both keep your cards hidden until the river? Just turn them over when you are all in. Problem solved. P.S. You were the first to show your cards anyway. You waited for him to show? |

Re: How to deal with Angle Shooter?
I would give him a dirty look and let it go. Happens all the time at Commerce at least when I was there. This guy said flush when I called him down and I said it was good. He then said, "No I mean you got a flush". I wanted to punch him in the mouth so bad when he showed down one pair no kicker.
