NEIFI IS ON THE JUICE!!!!
It's ESPNEWS' little corner headline, but here's the only article i could find about it.
[ QUOTE ] WASHINGTON, July 6 (Reuters) - Detroit Tigers shortstop Neifi Perez has been suspended 25 games for testing positive for a banned stimulant, Major League Baseball said Friday. The 34-year-old native of the Dominican Republic has appeared in 33 games this season and is batting .172 with one home run and six RBI. Perez, a 12-year veteran, had violated baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, the league said, adding that his suspension would begin immediately. [/ QUOTE ] I know it's not steroids, but still it's pretty funny. Neifi's line this year: .175/.224/.270 |

Re: NEIFI IS ON THE JUICE!!!!
This would totally debunk the theory that having a breakout year after the prime of your career is an indicator for steroid use.

His teammates probably turned him in. [/ QUOTE ] Well played, sir. I believe this is the first time a player on steroids has actually amassed a negative WARP while on the juice. Seriously, how has this guy stayed in the league for so long? His 2007 roid-aided OPS is 27 points lower than Barry Bonds's OBP...yet Neifi still makes more per three-game series than the average family makes in a year. |
