Wisconsin - Lake of Torches Casino
I am going to Wisconsin in July and am looking to play some live poker while I am there. The closest town to my cabin is ¨Boulder Junction¨ and the closest poker casino I could find is:
Lake of the Torches Resort and Casino 510 Old Abe Rd. Lac du Flambeau, WI (888) 599-9200 Has anyone ever been here? From what I read off the official website, the poker rooms seems real small. Apparantly they only have two tables, though they are running a 40 person max $50 + $5 tourney every Thursday in June. Maybe if it goes well they´ll do the same thing in July. Are there any other good poker casinos in the area in case Lake of the Torches is a bust? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks all. |

Re: Wisconsin - Lake of Torches Casino
It's not a poker room. It's two poker tables in the hallway between the main casino and the hotel. The last time I was there(last summer) they had a 2/4 LHE and a 1/2 NLHE game going, but there was at least a 90 minute wait. I'm also going to be around there for 10-12 days in July.

[/ QUOTE ] They've moved the tables into a non-smoking room next to a bunch of slots. There are 3 tables, which usually fill up Fri-Sat. Only 1-2 tables Thurs/Sun. Almost always 1-2NL. Poor dealers, poor players. I've only played the tourney once, but there are 30-40 players every week. Blind structure is very fast. |

A few of them are good, but the majority are slow. A few of them have trouble reading hands and don't understand the game very well.
