Set - ugly turn spot
Opponent is a 28/12/1 Reg., probably a losing player.
Postflop he goes way too far with marginal holdings. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) saw flop|saw showdown CO ($516.50) Button ($394) Hero ($433.50) BB ($553.75) UTG ($400) MP ($400) Preflop: Hero is SB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG raises to $16, 3 folds, Hero calls $14, 1 fold. After the Flop action I put him on a wide range (PP, FD, OESD, some combos). Now what? |

Re: Set - ugly turn spot
I probably push but don't feel too good about it. I could see an argument for check/folding if he's generally passive and bets big.

Re: Set - ugly turn spot
I agree, push. Or if you feel reasonably confident he will check back AA or worse, then you can c/f.

Re: Set - ugly turn spot
CRAI turn. someone this passive doesn't have a wide range UTG, especially after his call on the flop. A big part of his range includes overpairs with a heart if he bets big.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see him betting the turn with overpairs. People aren't as dumb as they use to be and play for pot control/free cards more. I just shove the turn, weird spot. |

I see an easy check raise ai on the turn...
What do you think about donkbet/push on the flop? It was my mainline at 50-200NL but i stopped playing donkbets... |

[/ QUOTE ] in my experience the bet/3-bet approach with sets worked very well at 2/4-3/6 until about a year ago. Maybe ppl in general are more familiar with this nowadays. |
