Re: Countdown
It looks like the convention center is closer to Twain ave. than Flamingo. Is Twain going to be the best way to enter as far as parking and valeting goes? Or does it matter.

Re: Countdown
I'm such a degenerate, I had no plans to go this weekend until my friend came over for dinner tonight. Now I'm going to be trying to line up a hotel as soon as I get up in the morning, and then a few of us will catch a fight this evening or Saturday morning. Hopefully we'll have a room lined up, if not we'll figure something out.

Re: Countdown
[ QUOTE ]
anyone back from the Rio yet? how are the cash games looking? [/ QUOTE ] Much better than I expected in the games I sat in. The TAGs played poorly post flop as expected, most people were passive, and there was always a token retard around to create action and drama in the game. I almost never saw people check-raise, standard play at the Rio was the leading bet in the mid limit games. I dumped 40 bets in one game and 15 bets in another, but I could tell that the games were much better than the average Vegas games. What surprised me the most was the quality of the dealers - they were much better than I expected, 10x better than last year. Oddly the best dealer all night was a guy names Stefan who only deals during the series, and the worst guy was a local Vegas dealer who works on the strip. The real problem was with the list system itself, its totally messed up and useless, the board means nothing. One thing this taught me is that QueOS is a piece of crap, it wasn't designed to handle events of this size. Hand of the night went something like this - 4 people limp in, I complete the SB w/55, BB checks. Flop is Q95(suits unimportant) I bet out, UTG raises, CO calls 2 cold, I 3-bet, they both call. Turn is a J. I bet, both call. I can see that CO only has a stack left. River is T. I bet, UTG folds, CO raises all in and shows AKs - no pre-flop raise, no draw but overcards on the flop, gets a gut shot and his over cards on the turn. Suffice to say tonight was the night of huge river cards for my opponents. Ugh. |
