Default UltraCorps

Has anybody played this? It used to be on MSN Zone years ago, and has been picked up by Steve Jackson Games. They're currently in Beta working towards a release, so it's still free.

It's a game of empire building in space. It has elements of Diplomacy, space combat, and a cool economy feature.

You can create a private game, with up to 6 players. Anybody interested in playing a game?

If there's interest, I'll create a game.

You know what POG needs? More war in space.

Sign up, suckas

This is turnbased strategy. Not a big time commitment, about 15-20 minutes / turn, two days per turn, if everybody finishes their turn early, it runs automatically.

In!

I used to play VGA-Planets ten years ago - of course I'm in, if you don't mind playing with a noob/lurker...

Dudes,

This organization is a front for Scientology, so watch your ass or you'll end up worshiping Xenu and paying some loser $100 an hour to audit your Operating Thetan MindStream.

Don't say I didn't warn you...

My first thought was "Gee, I bet I end up wishing this was VGA planets", so yea, you're in.

The combat system is...interesting. I'm not sure what I think of it yet. # of units is quite possibly the overwhelming factor eventually.

At high levels, units get up to 60 attacks per round. So overwhelming numbers of units aren't the only thing that matters. But, lots of fodder is good.

We can start with 4, I'd like 5 or 6. You 3 PM me your screen names (or post them here), and I'll invite you when I start the game.

There's also a good tutorial in there that you can follow through to get started.

Played a solo game, all I did was build megabots and send fleets of them off. I was horribly inefficient, took 21 turns to win, but there was absolutely no counter strikes.
