Re: Stuff to do in Las Vegas
Where do people play pool (9-ball, straight, etc) in Vegas?
I was there last Sept and don't recall seeing a pool hall remotely near the strip. |

Re: Stuff to do in Las Vegas
There's a place in the Rio called tilted kilt that has pool and scantily clad waitresses and dead guy ale and delicious onion rings.

Re: Stuff to do in Las Vegas
For those that mentioned driving fast cars:
http://www.americanracingacademy.com/ I'm not sure I'd recommend racing in the heat of the Vegas summer, though. There's also a high-performance motorcycle school in Vegas: http://www.fastfreddie.com/html/overview.htm You can also drive a NASCAR vehicle on the oval: http://www.1800bepetty.com/experienc....aspx?LocID=LV |

Have sex with Britney Spears.
My brother will be working at Tao soon, so I'm really hoping we can make this happen for someone! I think sublime could pull it off. |

[ QUOTE ] felson and I are looking to shoot machine guns while there in June. What's the best place near the strip? [/ QUOTE ] I did that last time I was there - it was awesome! I think the place I did it at was called "Las Vegas Gun Range" or something. It was advertised in those booklets given away in the back of cabs, and is only a 10 min drive from the strip. [/ QUOTE ] This place? http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/rental.htm |

Re: Machine guns
Except for Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon (and minor-league baseball because that's something I enjoy almost anywhere) I'm almost completely uninterested in most of these activities.
Although I guess the wind-tunnel thing might be kind of groovy. I can play pool in any city I want though. guns and ATV's and go-karts I guess might be fun but just isn't for me I guess. Bleh, I'm finnicky I guess. |

Re: Machine guns
My housemates and I went skydiving right outside of Las Vegas last year which was simply amazing. I don’t remember the companies’ name but they had a slogan, “Why gamble with money when you can gamble with your life?”

Re: Stuff to do in Las Vegas
1. Buy a Ferrari - The dealership at the Wynn has outsold all other Ferrari dealerships combined
2. Charter a Gulfstream - to fly you around the country and pick up all your friends and bring them to Vegas. 3. Blow up a hotel - Find out when the next demolition is and negotiate with the demolition compan to "push the plunger" 4. Watch a Hotel go up in a matter of days - Whenever in Vegas I find myself staring in awe at construction sites. hundreds of cement trucks lined up on the site all full of cement. Millions of Mexicans all within arms reach of each other hammering nails in their section. 5. Date a stripper - see old trip reports in B&M 6. Blow your bankroll on Casino War - not many casinos outside of vegas have casino war. It is crazy fast, addictive, and you think you can win it right up until your rubberband has nothing to hold anymore. 7. Bust tournament pros at cash games - if you are there around the WSOP, then you have a good shot at busting some pros. 8. Prop bets - If you are going with friends, then you have to have a prop bet sheet before you get there. Mine included: Number of Elvis' seen, Amount of sleep, etc. See Tiltboys for more lame ideas like this. 9. Gondola ride in the Bellagio fountain - Twice as romantic, but requires a great casino host to pull off. 10. New Years Eve - In my opinion this is one of the greatest couple days to be in Vegas. They close the strip from traffic and it fills with drunken sloots. |
