Does this huge overpush ever signal that we don't have a high pair? Wouldn't a high pair, like QQ+ just reraise to keep someone in?

[/ QUOTE ] Against a great and thinking player like Roothlus I would push QQ+ same way so that he doesnt put me on it. Against an unknown I would re-raised to 1600-1800 and push any flop

I would probably flat call against Roothlus. Push against anyone else.

Roothlus isn't tight.

I think ur question goes to how u play the blinds. How far ahead or behind are u willing to be when u raise.

In general, Roothlus range has to contain Kings and aces here so you are behind most of the time (because there are more aces than kings given ur holding). There are some quality Q and J, but overall u r not ahead. You have 20+XBB and there are no antes. I'd probably just call and take the flop, because I would expect this villain to call with most to all of his aces. If u have a tight image and expect a fold from many aces, then a raise is better, I'm raising to 2K and leading the flop.

Overall getting 22XBB all in pf w/ kq has to be EV-, and this is the kind of play that u won't see much live.

These questions are very game specific and u will have to work out how u will play these types of situations, vary them, and adjust for players.
