Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. He beat JC Alvarado (prtypsux) in the final. Dragon Pham came third. Good job, JC,

WPTE PR Manager Lyndsay LaGree issued a press release on JC's first ever tournament win in front of TV cameras:
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/070329/20070329005345.html?.v=1 One-person Electronic News Gathering (ENG) crews from the CBS (KTVN-TV 2) and NBC (KRNV-TV 4) affiliates in Reno (TV Market #110, i.e. a training ground for "kids" coming out of broadcasting/communications/journalism schools) were present to interview JC after the tournament. I don't believe the Sacramento media has picked up the story yet, but they eventually will (time to give KCRA-TV 3 and KOVR-TV 13, the NBC and CBS affiliates, the heads-up.) Full Disclosure: J.C. is one of the 4 clients I have worked with, having represented him on a small project with PokerStars.NET to cover the Atlantis WPT event in the Bahamas in January. Besides J.C. Tran and Joanne J.J. Liu, I am working with Michael Gracz and Cecilia Reyes [Carlos Mortenson's ex]. I am certainly grateful to have the privilege to be working with players who are also some of the nicest people you will ever meet. |
