Default Melbourne University Puzzle Hunt

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late notice. This competition started today, Australian time. I'm already on a team, but I thought it would be a good idea for POG to register and have threads on the puzzles (which I won't be able to read, obviously). If you want to be legitimate competitors, max team size is 10, so people will need to register interest in this thread. You could also just have open threads on the puzzles and disqualify yourselves at the end of the comp.

I'd be up for joining a team if anyone's interested. This looks like a lot of fun.

You can late register. The way it works is that you get 5 points per correct answer, decreasing by 1 as they add a hint each day, to a minimum of two. So late registering doesnt matter that much, especially not if you're not seriously competing.

So far my team has cracked 2 of the 5 puzzles and has made progress on 2 others.

Update: We've now solved 4 of 5 puzzles. The only one left is a real bitch. Teams have guessed answers 374 times, but only 5 of those guesses have been correct.

List your name/email here or PM it to me and I'll setup a team. We can setup a thread for each puzzle and/or an IM chatroom.

I've created a team, I'll add members as I get PMs/posts here.

I might suck at this and can only work on it in the evening, but I'll be on a team I guess.

FYI, Team name is "2+2 POGers", Password is "ducy?"

So anyone can submit the answers for the team.

Start up some threads if you guys want. I haven't had time to look at the puzzles yet.

God its been a while since I have done a puzzle hunt. I've only glanced at the puzzles so far. The only thing that stuck out to me was the name of the professor in Symbols http://www.fun-with-words.com/rebus_puzzles.html. I'll work on this more later tonight
